Now that the holidays are over, it’s time to put away the decorations and get back to our regular everyday lives again. That means taking down the lights, wrangling all the decorative yard animals, boxing up the trimmings, and getting rid of the tree. Regular curbside service won’t pick up your live (now dead) trees. For Basking Ridge Christmas tree disposal, you must take it to your local recycling center.

Basking Ridge Christmas Tree Disposal
Before you take your tree to Pill Hill, make sure to strip it of all ornaments, lights, and tinsel. Remove the stand as well, even if it’s also made of wood. If your tree happens to be over six feet tall, you’ll need to cut it in half. Basking Ridge Christmas tree disposal also includes small branches and leaves left behind. They accept live wreaths and garlands as long as they are devoid of any decoration as well. But don’t bag up your tree and trimmings. Either leave them loose or place them in a box for easy transportation.
Pill Hill accepts all trees, branches, wreaths, and garlands on the first two weekends of January. That’s this Saturday, the 5th, and next Saturday, the 12th. Residents of Basking Ridge and Bernardsville are both welcome to drop off their Christmas trees at that time. Bernardsville doesn’t allow Christmas trees in their regular curbside pick up either. If you have any questions, please contact the Bernards Township Public Works Department. Happy New Year!
