We hope everyone enjoyed a safe New Year’s Eve celebration. Now it’s time to get back into the swing of things. Did you take down your Christmas decorations over the last week or so? Where are you supposed to take your tree now that the holidays are over? Regular curbside service refuses their normal curbside service for Christmas trees. However, there are a couple of options available for your Basking Ridge Christmas tree disposal this year.
Basking Ridge Christmas Tree Disposal
Ridge Girls Basketball Curbside Pick-Up
Over the next couple of weeks, the Ridge Girls Basketball team accepts requests for curbside pick-ups. For just $15 per tree, the team picks up formerly live Christmas trees directly from outside your Basking Ridge home. Make sure you strip the tree of any decorations, tinsel, lights, and attached stands.
Contact the team via email for your pick-up request. Then, set your tree at your curb by 9 am on the day you specify in your reservation (January 5th or January 12th). Finally, leave cash or a check in the amount of $15 inside your mailbox in an envelope marked RGB. Please make checks out to “Ridge Girls Basketball”. All trees collected become mulch for Basking Ridge’s parks. Money raised benefits the team.
Pill Hill Recycling Center
Pill Hill accepts Christmas trees at their facility over the next two weekends. Residents may drop off their trees between 8 am and 4 pm on January 4th or 11th for free. Contact Rob Haynes at (908) 766-3000 x127 anytime between 7:30 am and 3 pm weekdays with any questions. The Pill Hill Recycling Center is located between Mt Airy Rd and Meeker Rd. Remember to strip it of all decorations and tree stands before you drop it off.
