This global pandemic affected millions of people in a very short amount of time. Employers furloughed workers when COVID-19 restrictions came into play. Record numbers of people have filed unemployment claims since mid-March. Local food pantries experienced an influx of families and individuals seeking help to supplement their meager food supplies. The Red Cross Club of Ridge High School wanted to help. So, they began seeking food donations to give to St. Bernard’s Episcopal Church. Now, they ask for your assistance to continue feeding those impacted by this pandemic.
Help Ridge High School Red Cross Club
The Red Cross Club’s mission was to help the community wherever they saw a need. (Can you see why Ridge High School ranks in the top 2% of all high schools in the US?) Once schools shifted to online learning, the club looked for ways to continue their efforts. That’s when they partnered with St. Bernard’s. Right now, they host food drives at the church every Wednesday at 5 pm. So far, they raised over $1000 in food and other supplies for St. Bernard’s food pantry.
You can help by dropping by the church on a Wednesday evening to make a food donation. Unable to make it for a drop-off on Wednesday? Email the Red Cross Club or text them at (513) 240-2669 to arrange a pick-up or drop-off any time. Also, the church accepts monetary donations via check (made out to “The Community Fund” and with “COVID19 Assistance” written in the memo line) or through their online donation site. If you prefer, they also accept $25 ShopRite gift cards. All money raised goes directly to purchasing food and supplies for their food pantry.
