The weatherman predicts some serious thunderstorms and wind kicking up for Easter weekend. If you plan on going to any public Easter egg hunts, you might want to check to make sure they’re still happening before you head out. By next weekend, hopefully, the weather dries up enough for you to enjoy the Basking Ridge Family Scavenger Hunt for Project EARTH.

Basking Ridge Family Scavenger Hunt
Each year, the Environmental Education Center hosts a Basking Ridge Family Scavenger Hunt around Lord Stirling Park. This year, the festivities center around swamp life. Families, friends, and clubs are encouraged to sign up for the scavenger hunt. Each group traverses the trails beginning at noon. Make sure you wear your boots because the trails can get quite muddy. Along the way, you’ll run into various EEC staff who will provide clues as well as information about the swamp. The clues help you answer environmental questions. Head back to the EEC by 3:15 pm for the EEC Challenge game. Contestants will be chosen at random from all those who answered their questions correctly. Winners of the EEC Challenge earn fun prizes.
After the scavenger hunt, watch The Butterfly Guy as he brings out his beautiful winged friends for you to see. Then, visit the Great Swamp Experience on the lower level of the Environmental Education Center. Here, you’ll find several interactive exhibits as well as stuffed animals, short films, and artifacts. The exhibit stays open until 4:30 pm and is also available free of charge.
